Alberto Gonzalez

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alberto Gonzalez, who departed this world on Monday, July 28th, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on Thursday, May 25th, 1939, in Guadalajara, Mexico, Alberto was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend.

Alberto was a resident of Aiken, South Carolina, where he was cherished by all who knew him. A skilled butcher by trade, he was renowned for his craftsmanship and passion for his work. His expertise was often sought by friends and neighbors who would invite him to assist with the communal butchering of cows and pigs. Alberto's humor and his talent for telling jokes—sometimes with a mischievous twinkle in his eye—endeared him to many and ensured that laughter was never in short supply.

Alberto was deeply passionate about soccer and his favorite team, Chivas de Guadalajara, and could often be found cheering on his favorite team or discussing the latest match with friends and family. His love for the outdoors was evident in his dedication to maintaining his yard, making it a place of beauty and peace.

Alberto is survived by his devoted wife, Teresa Morales of Aiken, and their nine children: Teresa Gonzalez, Mario Gonzalez, Maria Gonzalez, Luis Gonzalez, Gabriela Gonzalez, Angelica Gonzalez, Elizabeth Gonzalez, Sandra Gonzalez, and Gabriel Gonzalez. His legacy is carried on by his six brothers: Martino Gonzalez, Luis Gonzalez, Mario Gonzalez, Elena Gonzalez, Teresa Gonzalez, and Gabriela Gonzalez.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezequiel Gonzalez and Gabriela Gonzalez, as well as his children, Monica Gonzalez, Arturo Gonzalez, Claudia Gonzalez, Sergio Gonzalez, and Hector Gonzalez, and siblings Ezequiel Gonzalez, Rebeca Gonzalez, Carmen Gonzalez, and Felipe Gonzalez.

A Funeral Mass for Mr. Gonzalez will be held at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 125 Park Ave SE, Aiken, SC 29801, on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00pm with a Rosary Service to be held at 7:30pm.
