Alice Holmes Finley

A memorial service for Mrs. Alice Holmes Finley will be held Sunday, November 3, 2002 at 2 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC, with Pastor Richard F. Poock officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the funeral home. Mrs. Finley, 85, of Aiken, SC, wife of Mr. Richard Joseph Finley, died Wednesday, morning, October 30, 2002 at Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center, Aiken, SC.

Born in Bronx, NY, a daughter of the late George Holmes and the late Margaret Wolff Holmes, she had lived in Washington Township, NJ, prior to coming to Aiken, SC, in 1985. She was a housewife and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church, Aiken, SC. Mrs. Finley had a great love for children and for twelve years she volunteered many long hours at Stepping Stones School, Aiken, SC.

In addition her husband of sixty ?three years, Richard Joseph Finley, sons, Gerald Finley, White, GA, and Russell Finley, West Palm Beach, FL; brother, Richard Holmes, NY; grandchildren, Jennifer Finley, Dawn Blackmore, Amanda Finley, and Jeffrey Finley, and one great-grandchild, Courtney Blackmore, survive Mrs. Finley.

The family has requested that if so desired, memorials in memory of Mrs. Finley be made to, Make-A-Wish-Foundation, 2720 Sheridan Dr., Building D., Suite 235, Macon, GA 31204.
