With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Alma Mary Beal, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother. Alma passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025, in Aiken Regional Medical Center at the age of 84.

Alma was born on Tuesday, April 15th, 1941, in the vibrant city of Dublin, Ireland, to the late William and Margaret Carter. From her Irish roots, she carried a spirit of warmth and compassion wherever life took her, ultimately making her home in Aiken, SC.

Alma's career at the United States Embassy in Dublin, Ireland, was marked by her dedication to helping others, a testament to her commitment to bridging understanding and providing support across cultures.

Alma was a woman of many passions; she enjoyed golfing with her friends and found great joy in rose gardening. Her love for both was infectious and brought beauty and camaraderie into the lives of those around her.

Alma is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Rodney A. Beal, who resides in their shared home, and their daughter Tania Cowart, who lives in Huntsville, AL. Alma's memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren, Connor, Trevor, Ainsley, and Bailey Cowart whose lives have been forever enriched by her love and guidance. She is fondly remembered by her sisters, Core Edge, Joy Elliott, and Florence McGuire, all residing in Dublin, Ireland.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Cara Anne Beal, her sister, Iris Scaggs, and her beloved parents.

A Funeral Mass in Alma's honor will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Gloverville, SC, on Friday, May 23rd, 2025, at 11:00am. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate her life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Joseph's Indian School, 1301 North Main Street
Chamberlain, SD 57325, a cause close to Alma's heart.
