Alvin H. Hawkins

Mr. Alvin "Al" H. Hawkins, Jr., 74, of Aiken, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013, following an illness. Graveside services will be private and are under the care of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, AIKEN.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of Eunice Brown Hawkins and the late Alvin H. Hawkins. He was a 1956 graduate of Aiken High School where he was Class President. He later graduated from Furman University where he was still a big supporter. Mr. Hawkins was in timber sales. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 156 and the American Legion. Mr. Hawkins was a member of First Baptist Church of Aiken. He was preceded in death by his father, his sister, Betty Hightower and his brother-in-law, Arthur Hightower.

Survivors include: his mother, Eunice Brown Hawkins of Aiken; a niece, Eunice Jennings of Cleveland, Ohio; nephew, Steve Hightower of Strongsville, Ohio; aunts, Madeline Hawkins of Aiken and Irene Wickliffe of Greenville.
