Arthur Wallace Alexander

October 3, 1937 — February 6, 2005

A memorial service for Mr. Arthur Wallace Alexander will be held Saturday, February 12, 2005 at 2 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC with Pastor Bob Byrne officiating.

Mr. Alexander, 67, of Wagener, SC, died Sunday, morning, February 6, 2005 at his home.

Born in Boston, MA, a son of the late Francis Findlay and Dera Edithie Speegle Alexander, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from the National Security Agency in 1989 after thirty-three years of service as a cryptanalyst. Mr. Alexander was a member of the Goshen Hounds Fox Hunting Club, Master of Fox Hound Association, North American Fox Hound Club, Why Worry Hounds, American Driving Society & Carriage Association of America. He was also very active in bird banding.

He is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Karen Lee Alexander, daughter, Michelle Alexander, Cumberland, MD; sons, Richard Alexander, Ellicott City, MD and Kevin Alexander, Columbia, MD; brother, Charles Alexander, Mashpee, MA; nephew, Chuck Alexander, Mashpee, MA; father and mother-in-law, Robert E. and Evelyn Lee, Port Ludlow, WA; and nine grandchildren.
