Aubrey Bowman White

Mr. Aubrey B. White, beloved husband of Sydney S. White, died February 18, 2005 after a long and courageous battle.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 21 from 12 noon until 1pm at George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel 211 Park Ave SW Aiken. Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, officiated by Rev. Jerry DuBose. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens.

Mr. White was Vice President of Piedmont Pine Lumber Company, beginning in Aiken in the 1940?s and later, in Greenwood for many years. In the late 1960?s, he became general manager of the Augusta Country club. In the late 1970?s, he was employed with Johnson Motor Company in Augusta, in charge of all accounting departments within the company.

Survivors include his wife Sydney Sanders White, Aiken, a sister; Ruth Butler, of Aiken, a son; John E. Johnny White and his wife Lynda, Highlands, NC, a daughter; Sally Lacher and her husband John, Trenton, SC, granddaughters, Alison Ibsen and family, Roswell, GA and Susan Treadaway and family, Bluffton, SC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, 125 Pendleton St. SW, Aiken, SC 29801.
