Betty Jane Chavis

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jane Chavis will be held Sunday, July 2, 2006 at 2pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue, SW with Rev. Marion Britton officiating. Interment will follow in His Way Baptist Church formerly Windsor Light House Community Chapel. Visitation will be tonight from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Lighthouse Baptist Church Building Fund, 2150 Columbia Highway, North, Aiken, SC, 29805.

Mrs. Chavis, 76, of Aiken, died Thursday, June 29, 2006 at Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center, Aiken.

Mrs. Chavis was born in Tyrone, PA to the late John and Katherine Campbell Ewing. She was a homemaker and a member of the former Windsor Lighthouse Community Chapel and women?s group.

Mrs. Chavis is predeceased by her husband, Rev. Charles Spurgeon Chavis; sisters, Margaret Harley, Helen Markel, Edith Ewing, and Mary Bosnell. She is survived by her daughters, Katherine Larry Rinn, Windsor, Rita Bagwell, Sarah Clifton Mundy, both of Aiken; grandchildren, Larry Rinn, Jr., Charlie Rinn, Heather Rinn, Jessica R. George, Clifton C. Mundy, Stephanie M. Pollard, Amanda Mundy, Maranda Mundy, Felicia Green and Elijah Bagwell.
