Bettye Banks Martin

Funeral services for Mrs. Bettye Banks Martin will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at 3 P M at George Funeral Homes, Southside Chapel, 3175 Whiskey Rd., Aiken, SC, with Mr. Wesley Key officiating. Interment will follow Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken, SC. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 9, 2003 from 6-8 PM at the funeral

Mrs. Martin, 68, of New Ellenton, SC, wife of Earl Martin, died suddenly Monday, morning, December 8, 2003 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Born in Ashville, AL, a daughter of the late John Edgar and Scytha Leslie Jester Banks, she had been a resident of New Ellenton, SC, since 1953, where she was a member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church. She had formerly been a poll worker with the Aiken County Board of Elections and an Office Manager with Jackson-Hewitt Tax Service.

In addition to her husband of years, Mr. Earl Martin, a son, Jerrfrey Tyrone Martin, New Ellenton, SC; daughters, Decia and her husband, Randy Brittain, New Ellenton, SC, Marcia Hall, New Ellenton, SC, and Mona Martin, Aiken, SC; sister, Leslie Bartlett, Springville, AL; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, survive.

The family has asked that memorials in memory of Mrs. Martin be made to the charity of choice.
