Cecil Curly Widener

August 20, 1926 — April 28, 2003

Aiken---Mr. Cecil ?Curly? Widener, 76, died Monday, April 28, 2003 at Carriage Hills Plantation. Funeral services will be held 3PM,Wednesday, April 30 at Windsor First Baptist Church with Rev. James Wingate officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 6-8 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of Aiken County, he was the son of the late Willie I. and Bertha Key Widener. He is also predeceased by his sisters, Rosena Ingram and Beebe Cushman. Mr. Widener worked at the Clearwater Finishing Plant as a Die Mixer and retired after more than 25 years of service. He was a member of Windsor First Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and enjoyed his daily walks around downtown Aiken.

Survivors include three sons; Joe and Rhonda Widener, Erwin, TN, Jacob and Sherrill Widener, New Ellenton, SC, David Widener, Aiken, SC, three sisters; Venie W. Davis, Sandersville, GA, Bertha W. Darnell, Blackville, SC, Betty W. Barwick, Windsor, SC and 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

The family wishes that memorial be made to the Aiken Area Council on Aging, 159 Morgan St., Aiken, SC 29801.
