Charles L. Sharpe

Mr. Charles L. ?Charley? Sharpe, 59, husband of Judith J. Sharpe, died Tuesday, January 28, 2003 at his residence. A memorial service will be held 11AM, Saturday, February 1, 2003 at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, with Rev. Cathy Cole officiating. Charley was born July 5, 1943 in Granville Co., NC, to the late Lillard N Sharpe and Janie Hedgepeth Sharpe. He grew up in Tullahoma, TN, where he was a graduate of Tullahoma High School. He graduated the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He was employed by Arnold Engineering Development Center, Tullahoma, TN, and Eastman Kodak, Rochester, NY, before joining the DuPont Company in Kinston, NC, in 1969. He transferred to the Savannah River Site in 1981, and retired as a principal engineer from Westinghouse Savannah River Company in 2000. Survivors include his mother, wife, son David T. and wife Nathalie Sharpe, Boulder, CO, daughter, Jennifer Sharpe McIntyre, Denver, CO, grandson Christian McIntyre, Denver, CO, brother Douglas C. and wife Beverly Sharpe, Murfreesboro, TN, sister Janet Sharpe, Birmingham, AL, one niece and two nephews. The family wishes that memorial contributions be made to Hitchcock Hospice, 690 Medical Park Drive, Aiken, SC 29801, American Cancer Society or a Charity of your choice.
