Cherieann Wimberly Herndon

Mrs. Cherieann Wimberly Herndon, 78, of Aiken, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016. Born in St. George, SC, she was a daughter of the late James Wimberly and Lucylle Mizzell Rowell. Mrs. Herndon was an active communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Frank "Buddy" Herndon, a son, Frank Herndon, Jr., and a brother, James Wimberly, Jr. She and her husband were part owners of Herndon Dairy.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Monahon (Tom) and Nancy Corley (Jim) all of Aiken, SC; a half brother, Rev. Reggie Rowell of Blythewood, SC; two half sisters, Linda Garrett of Charleston, SC and Barbara Ellen Jackson, of Charleston, SC; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Valley Church Center, PO Box 358, 2443 Augusta Road, Gloverville, SC 29828.
