Clarence Painter

Mr. Clarence "Sonny" Painter, JR., 79, of Aiken, died Saturday, March 17, 2012, peacefully in the home of Mike and Cindy Vasovski, where he resided with his wife.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church under the care of George Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue SW, Aiken, SC, 29801.

Born in Dallas, Texas, he was a son of the late Clarence and Thelma Oleta Merriefield Painter. Sonny was a successful business owner in Dallas, Denton and Graham, Texas. He was a US Navy Veteran and a member of St. David's Episcopal Church in Denton, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Howard Painter of the home; daughters, Cindy Vasovski Mike and Patricia Carroll Paul, all of Aiken; grandchildren, Michael Franz Vasovski, Vanessa Vasovski, John Paul Carroll, Mary Cade Carroll and Maxwell Carroll.

Sonny was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
