Cynthia Susan Whaley

July 11, 1948 — November 16, 2022

AIKEN, SC – Cynthia “Cindy” Susan Whaley, age 74, passed away November 16, 2022.

Cindy was born July 11, 1948, in Lynwood, CA to the late George Allen Porter and the late Mary Lou Porter. She proudly served in the US Marine Corps, worked for the California Highway Patrol, and later worked in the banking industry. She was a resident of California and Chicago for many years before moving to Aiken, SC over twenty years ago. Cynthia was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and had a love for traveling. She just returned from a trip to South Africa. Cindy was extremely generous and caring. She loved to cook and volunteer her help to all her friends. You could always count on her. She was also an avid sports fan and never met someone with whom she could not converse. There was never a baby or dog that she could walk past and not stop and adore.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ronald “Bill” Whaley; a daughter, Amy Whaley; and a sister, Karen Porter.

Cindy is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Mark & Laurie Porter of California.
