Diane Donovan Bell

Mrs. Diane Donovan Bell, 71, of Aiken, died Monday, July 15, 2013 at Hitchcock House, Aiken. A Funeral Liturgy, outside of Mass will take place on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 10:30am at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken with Fr. Gregory Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:30-8:00pm. She was born in Elizabeth, NJ and had lived in Belford, NJ before moving to Aiken in 1959. Before retiring, she enjoyed a thirty plus year career at the former K-Mart in Aiken, serving as a bookkeeper. She had been communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Church and was married to her late husband, James Robert Bell Sr. in St. Claire's Chapel. She was also an avid Gamecock fan.

In addition to her parents, Joseph Donovan and Myrtle Mimnaugh Donovan, she was predeceased by her husband, James Robert Bell, Sr., a son, James Robert Bell, Jr., a brother, Thomas J. Donovan, a sister, Patricia Donovan and her mother in law, Ravenel Q. Bell.

She is survived by a son Gary Martin "Marty" Bell and his wife Karen, Aiken; a daughter, Donna Bell Fisher and her husband Kenneth, Warrenville and seven grandchildren, Eric Proctor, Todd Proctor, Justin Bell, Luke Fisher, Austin Bell, Alec Bell and Cameron Fisher. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Hitchcock House for their care and to Gina Derudder of Hospice of SC for her very special attention.
