It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Donald George Currier on Wednesday evening, February 26, 2025, in Brighton, MI at the age of 83.
Don was born on August 6, 1941, in Pontiac, Michigan a son of the late Harold and Mary Green Currier.
Don worked as a Systems Analyst at Savannah River Nuclear Site, where his expertise and dedication were highly valued. Beyond his professional life, Don found joy and camaraderie in playing pickleball with friends and community members. Don was a parishioner of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Aiken, SC.
Don was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Mary Currier; his cherished daughter, Traci Anne Currier; and two brothers, Gerald and Paul Currier.
He is survived by his two sons, Todd Anthony Currier and Ryan Patrick Currier, both residing in Michigan, who carry his legacy. His love also extends to his grandchildren—Shienne, Mark, Autumn, Jasmyne, and Knox—along with his great-grandchildren, Avery and Sophia. Don held dear the relationships with his son Ryan's fiancé, Zoë Foster as well as his surviving siblings: William "Bill" & Joanne Currier of MI, Susanne Slamka of MI & Marge Sien of PA.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 10:00am at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 125 Park Ave SE, Aiken, SC 29801 with the Very Rev. Richard Wilson as celebrant.
Final rites and commendations will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 1255 University Lane, Aiken, SC 29801.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at The Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center. A Rosary service will be held at 6:00pm in the Historic George Funeral Home Downtown Chapel.
The family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Children's Place, 310 Barnwell Ave NE, Aiken, SC 29801, a cause that was close to Don & Jean’s heart.
