Douglas Kenyon Manter

Funeral Services for Mr. Douglas "Doug" Kenyon Manter will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 1pm at Aiken's First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER is assisting the family. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home. Mr. Manter, 60, of Aiken, died Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Doug was born in Providence, RI and had lived most of his life in Aiken where he was a member of Aiken's First Baptist Church. Doug had been a truck driver for PYA Monarch, Augusta Concrete, Nabisco and Pepsi. He was a fan of sports cars and liked taking care of his two, Ford Mustangs.

He was predeceased by his brother, Bruce Whitney Manter.

Doug is survived by his parents; Frank Manter and Frances Whitney Manter, Aiken, two brothers; Richard Manter, Aiken and Stuart Manter, Columbia, two aunts; Ruth Lind and Eleanor Ogden, a nephew; Matthew Manter, and a niece; Megan Manter.
