Eddie J. Doty

Funeral services for Ms. Eddie Jean Doty will be held Friday, May 13, 2005 at 3PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC with her brother, Rev. Dr. Fred O. Doty officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Becky Lawson, Scott Lawson, Lynn Beaumont, Adam Hauseman, David Hauseman, Barbara Smoak, Rodney Smoak, and Otis Moore. The family will receive friends Friday, May 13, 2005 from 1:30 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Ms. Doty, 80, of Aiken, SC, died Monday, afternoon, May 9, 2005 at Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center, Aiken, SC.

Born in Old Hickory, TN, a daughter of the late Leslie Albert and Bertha Brown Doty, she had lived in Columbus, OH from 1948 until 1997 where she retired at the age of seventy-four from the State of Ohio. Ms. Doty was a member of Community Methodist Church, did a lot of volunteer work, enjoyed traveling, gardening, and collecting antiques. She never missed coming ?home? for Christmas.

She is survived by sisters, Flora Doty Harrison, Aiken, SC and Marian Doty Moore, Hendersonville, TN; brother, Rev. Dr. Fred O. Doty, Mankato, MN; and many nieces and nephews. A brother, Herbert J. Doty, preceded her in death.
