Edith Lott Bodie

Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Lott Bodie will be held Thursday, July 18, 2002 at 3 PM at Bethcar Baptist Church, Wagener, SC, with Revs. Chris Addy and Olin Sizemore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, with rites accorded by the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Bodie will be placed in the church at 2 PM Thursday. Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Lott, Tim Lott, Norwood Bodie, Gene Bodie, Bryan Satcher, and Tommy Swartz. Members of the Eula Heath Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 17, 2002 from 7-9 PM at the funeral home. Friends may call at the residence of Pete Bodie, 438 Bodie Rd., Wagener, SC. Mrs. Bodie, 75, of Wagener, SC, died Monday, afternoon, July 15, 2002 following an automobile accident.

Born in Aiken County, a daughter the late Luther Lott and Bessie Sanders Lott, Monetta, SC, and wife of the late Byron Bodie, Mrs. Bodie had made Wagener, SC, her home since 1954, where she was a member of Bethcar Baptist Church. She was a member of the Eula Heath Sunday School Class, Queen City Chapter of Order of Eastern Star, Chapter # 141, and was also the Order of the White Shrine. Mrs. Bodie loved her family and animals and enjoyed flowers.

In addition to her mother of Monetta, SC, sons, Pete Bodie and Thomas Bodie, both of Wagener, SC; a brother, James Lott, Monetta, SC; grandchildren, Michael Bodie, Jessica Ledford, Kimberley Kirkey, Melissa White, Barry Ergle, Kelly Ergle, and Jeremy Ergle; and eight great-grandchildren, survive Mrs. Bodie. A son, George Ergle and a brother, Leonard Lott, preceded her in death.

The family has requested that is so desired, memorials in memory of Mrs. Bodie be made to Parkinson?s Foundation, 1501 NW 9 th Ave., Miami, FL 33136.
