Elizabeth Hoy Bell

Aiken---Dr. Elizabeth S Bell, 56, wife of Ronald Bell, died Sunday, April 14, 2002 at her residence. A memorial service will be held 2pm Wednesday April 17, 2002 at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel. She was the daughter of the late James and Louise Shugart, native of Franklin, KY, and moved to Aiken 23 years ago from Louisville, KY. She was a Professor of English at the University of South Carolina-Aiken. Survivors included her husband; son, Jason Bell, Louisville, KY; daughter, Lydia Prichard Shelbyville, KY and sister Margaret Anderson, Athens, GA. The family wishes that memorials be made to the Dr. Elizabeth S. Bell Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o USC-Aiken Partnership, 471 University Pkwy, Aiken, SC 29801. The family will receive friends form 6-9 tonight at the George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave. SW, Aiken, SC.
