Elizabeth Wade Greene

Elizabeth "Betsey" Wade Greene, 68, of Aiken, wife of the late Dr. Fred W. Greene, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 16, 2014, at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church with Father Grant Wiseman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, under the care of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME. Pallbearers will be George W. Becker, John Brown, Chris Wade, John Wade, Robert S. Wade and Mike Willis.

A daughter of the late Francis Charles Wade and Lottie Faye Barry, she was born in York County, SC and came to Aiken in 1958. After graduating from college in 1967, she taught school in Aiken County before starting her business Lamps, Shade and Things in 1984. She is also the owner of Aiken Antique Mall on Laurens Street.

Mrs. Greene was a member of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the altar guild. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by her brother Charles Barry Wade and her sister, Faye Frances Boney.

Survivors include daughters, Gennifer Glenn Glancy of Athens, Ga. and Rebecca Elizabeth Becker (George) of Aiken. Grandchildren, Walker Sean Glancy, George William Becker and Elizabeth Faye Becker.
