Elizabeth Betsy'' Martin Kirk

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth ?Betsy? Martin Kirk will be held Friday, November 26, 2004 at 2:30 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC with Pastor Martha M. Ebel officiating. The family will greet friends from 1 PM until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. At her request, Betsy will be cremated and her remains interred in Aiken Memorial Gardens at a later date.

Betsy, 55, of Aiken, SC, wife of the late Robert ?Bob? Kirk, died suddenly Friday, evening, November 19, 2004 in Murrells Inlet, SC.

Born in New Rochelle, NY, a daughter of the late T. Richard and Ethel Fookes Martin, Betsy graduated from Pelham Memorial High School, Pelham, NY in 1966 and later attended Drake College, Fort Lauderdale, FL and Westchester School of Business. Betsy devoted a lot of her time to doing volunteer for such charitable organization as the American Red Cross.

A brother, Thomas ?Tom? Richard Martin, Jr. and his wife Marcia, Green Bay, WI; sister, Lynne Martin, Aiken, SC; nieces, Holly Martin, Laurie Martin, and Catherine and her husband Dan Ghoca, a special friend and companion, Lowell Skelton, Aiken, SC; and her beloved dog, Emmalee survive. In addition to her parents and husband, a niece, Heather Martin, also preceded her in death.

The family has asked that memorials in memory of Betsy be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, P.O. Box 1427, Easley, SC 29641-1427
