Ernestina Alejandro, of Aiken, SC, peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 18th, 2025, at the age of 91.
Born on Monday, June 5th, 1933, in Naranjito, Puerto Rico, Ernestina was a cherished mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth and spirit.
She is survived by her two devoted sons, Nelson M. Peralta and his wife Yosuk of Washington State, and Nixon J. Peralta and his wife Annette of Aiken, SC. Ernestina was a loving grandmother to her two grandchildren, Xavier Peralta and Isabella Peralta, who brought immense joy to her life. Her sisters, Hilda Alejandro, Virginia Alejandro, and Teresa Alejandro, mourn the loss of their dear sister.
Ernestina is preceded in death by her parents, Salvador and Celsa Alejandro, her beloved husband, Aurelio Peralta, her four brothers, Victor, Rafael, Ramon, and Germa Alejandro, as well as a twin brother to Virginia who tragically passed away at birth.
Throughout her life, Ernestina made a lasting impact in her career as an administrative assistant, where her dedication and commitment were deeply respected by her colleagues. She possessed a vibrant love for traveling, particularly when accompanied by her grandchildren and cherished fur babies. Her passion for Puerto Rican cuisine was well known, and she took great pleasure in sharing her culinary creations with family and friends.
Ernestina's life will be celebrated during a Funeral Mass at St. Mary Help of Christians, 125 Park Ave SE, Aiken, SC, 29801 (803) 649-6234 on Friday, May 23rd, 2025, beginning at 11:00am with Father Orlando Ardilla Serrano as celebrant.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the visitation, which will take place at The Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave SE, Aiken, SC 29801 (803) 649-6234 on Thursday, May 22nd, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
The family kindly requests that donations be made to the Kidney Research Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016 in Ernestina's honor, supporting a cause that was close to her heart.
Ernestina Alejandro's legacy of love, kindness, and joy will forever be remembered by those who were privileged to know her, and her memory will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
