Floyd Wright Smith

March 8, 1932 — July 7, 2017

Floyd Wright Smith, Jr., 85, of Aiken S.C., husband of the late Geneva Smith died peacefully on July 7, 2017 at Aiken Regional Medical Center following an illness.

Mr. Smith was a son of the late Floyd W. & Mary Sammons Smith. He was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. He attended school under the G.I. Bill and was extremely patriotic and proud to have served his country. He was of the Baptist Faith having strong religious beliefs and was a member of the National Rifle Association. Mr. Smith retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass after thirty years of service.

He is survived by a daughter: Mary E. Smith of North Augusta; siblings, Louise Bridges, Nellie Manning, Martha Jean Stubb, Lois Johnson, James Smith and Louis Smith along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to this wife and parents, Mr. Smith was pre-deceased by siblings, Frank Smith, John Smith, Salley Bragg, Rosa Smith & Annie Smith

Graveside services with Military Rites will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 4:00p.m. at Southlawn Cemetery in Aiken with Chaplain Mark Hudson officiating.

The family will be at their respective residences.
