Frank Robert Gniazdowski

A Memorial Mass for Mr. Frank Robert Gniazdowski will be celebrated at St. Mary Help of Christian's Catholic Church at 3:00pm on Monday, October 2, 2006. The family will receive friends at Smith Hall at St. Mary's Church immediately following the service. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. is assisting the family.

Mr. Gniazdowski, 72, of Aiken, died Monday September 25, 2006 at the Brigham & Womem's Hospital in Boston, MA. A son of the late Adam and Anna Strenk Gniazdowski, he was born in Niagara Falls, NY and had lived in Ransomville, NY before moving to Aiken in 1968. He had worked for forty years with Kimberly-Clark and was retired as a production foreman. Frank was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Church where he had been active in various activities, including the annual Giving Tree and parish dinners. He also had been a volunteer at ACTS. An avid tennis player, he also enjoyed his daily walks, but his favorite hobby was spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gniazdowski is predeceased by a daughter, Diane Elizabeth Batson, who died in May of 2005. He is survived by his wife, Lois E. Stacey Gniazdowski, with whom he celebrated their fifty-first wedding anniversary on September 24, 2006. He is also survived by three daughters, Julie and her husband Patrick Guy, Linda and her husband Richard Izard and Faith and her husband Brian Fiscus, all of Aiken; four sisters, Irene Zazcek, Helen Panek, Florence Gawrys and Rose Shemik; a brother, Steve Gniazdowski, all of the Niagara Falls, NY area; son in law, Don Batson of Traveler's Rest, SC and eleven grandchildren, Thomas Batson, Elizabeth Batson and Matthew Batson of Travelers Rest, SC, and Stacey Guy, Nathan Guy, Ryan Izard, Emily Izard, Casey Izard, Olivia Fiscus, Sarah Fiscus and Lucas Fiscus of Aiken.
