Franklin Daniel Carter

Franklin Daniel Carter, 82, of Aiken, SC, passed away on Wednesday, July 31st, 2024, at Aiken Regional Medical Center following an illness.

Franklin was born on Friday, December 1st, 1941, in Savannah. He was an Iron Worker by occupation and dedicated many years to his craft. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Harris Carter of the home; 3 daughters, Debbie Griffith of Murrells Inlet, Tina Coady of Hollywood, SC & Jennifer Elmgreen of Augusta, GA.; 1 brother; 11 grandchildren; 1 stepdaughter, Karen (Patrick) Dorr of Lexington, SC; and 1 stepson, Jeff Harris.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Marie Carter and his son Daniel Greg Carter.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 2:00pm in the Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center Downtown Chapel officiated by Dr. Chris Masters.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
