Gail Katherine Gettys

Gail Katherine Boyd Gettys, 84, beloved sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully Monday morning at The Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, Ga. following an extended illness which she fought with courage and determination until the Lord was ready to call her home. While her family grieves at the temporary separation, they are grateful that her suffering is over, she is made whole and she is with her Heavenly Father and loved ones who went on before her.

Born in Augusta, GA on January 29, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Lee Golphin & Katherine Louise King Boyd. Ms. Gettys was a retired insurance agent and a member of Hollow Creek Baptist Church. While living in Brunswick, Ga., she attended the First Baptist Church of Brunswick.

Surviving are two sisters, Sherrie B. Stewart of Aiken and Linda B. Rustin of Brunswick, GA; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Hall of Ward, SC; a son-in-law, Richard Boulton Sr.; 4 grandchildren, Mark Hall, Jr., Deidre Hall, Richard Boulton, Jr. and Alexis Rollins and 5 great-grandchildren, Colton, Kyler, Kalie, Braxton & Emmitt.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gettys was predeceased by a son, Mark “Buddy” Hall, Sr.; a daughter, Kathy Hall Boulton; and a brother, Julian Boyd.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 3:00p.m. from the sanctuary of Hollow Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Stewart McCarter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until the time of the service at Hollow Creek Baptist Church, 136 Hollow Creek Church Road, Aiken, SC 29803.
