George David Gilmer

Mr. George David Gilmer, 49, a resident of Aiken South Carolina passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014.

The son of George Edward and Anna Kate Gilmer, he was born and raised in Aiken SC. He attended The University of South Carolina, Columbia and graduated with a degree in Accounting. A former Marine, Mr. Gilmer was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed all sports including hunting, fishing, and golf.

Survivors include his sister, Anna Elaine Visner (Bob), of Chagrin Falls Ohio, and two nephews; Kyle Visner of Charleston SC, Derek Visner of Columbus OH, and a niece; Lindsey Visner of Chagrin Falls OH. Mr. Gilmer also leaves behind several cousins.

Funeral services for Mr. Gilmer will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in the George Funeral Home Historic Downtown Chapel, with a visitation one hour prior. Officiating the service will Dr. Fred Andrea. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery.
