Gertrude Bell Apone

Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Bell Apone will be held Saturday, October 18, 2003 at 2 PM from the graveside in Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Windsor, SC, with Rev. Dr. W.C. Lowe officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Mrs. Apone, 82, of Aiken, SC, died Wednesday, afternoon, October 15, 2003 at Pepperhill Nursing Center.

Born in and Aiken County, SC, she was a daughter of the late James Julius and Rosella Cushman Bell. She was a member of Levels Baptist Church and retired from the Aiken County School District.

A son, Nicholas R. Apone, Jr., Miami, FL; sister, Lorene Whalen, Aiken, SC; and a granddaughter, Nicole Larson and her husband, Zack, Pompano Beach, FL, survive.

The family has requested memorials in memory of Mrs. Apone be made to the charity of choice.
