Harry Eugene Mccollum

Mr. Harry Eugene McCollum, 82, of Aiken and husband of the late Helen Gleaton McCollum, entered into the presence of his savior on Sunday, December 23, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Chapel of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, AIKEN. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial with military honors will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Born in Orangeburg County, he was a son of the late Harry Lee and France Brown McCollum. A life long resident of Aiken County, Mr. McCollum retired from the US Army after 15 ½ years of service and then retired from Owens Corning.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, who will be greatly missed by all those lives he touched during the 82 precious years that God granted him on this earth; however, life for him has not ended with death, as god has promised eternal life for all those who believe in him. He was preceded in death by a son, Donnie McCollum. Mr. McCollum was proud of his service and was very appreciative of the service he received from the VA.

Pallbearers will be friends and family.

Survivors include: daughters, Debbie Vermillion Charles, Sharon Johnson, Adrina Owen Randy all of Aiken and Beverly Redd Normanof Windsor; sons, Genie McCollum Sandy and Tommy McCollum Pam all of Aiken; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
