Helen L. Machulis

Helen Lydia Machulis, 97, enter into rest Thursday, October 29, 2015. She was born on November 22, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois.

She was married in 1940 to Vito Anthony (Tony) Machulis; they were married for 68 years until Tony's death in 2008. They lived most of their married life in Illinois and Oklahoma, where Tony worked for Texaco and Helen worked as an administrative assistant for a law office and a savings and loan company. She retired in 1971 when they moved to Tulsa and she took up golf. She played golf until she was 87. In 2010, she moved to Aiken, SC to live with her oldest son, Robert and his wife Patricia. In 2014 Patricia's mother Sue O'Malley moved to Aiken where Helen and Sue became great friends and church buddies.

She is survived by 2 sons and a daughter: Robert and wife Patricia of Aiken, SC, William and wife Jan of Bartlesville, OK, Margaret Ann and husband Bruce Jennings of Brentwood, TN; 5 grandchildren: Kim, Stacey, Kyle, Andrew, Kamiryn, and 3 great-grandchildren: Sheree, Tiffany and Theodore.

A memorial service will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Aiken at 11:30 am Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015.
