Helen Evelyn Short

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Evelyn Short will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 2pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to American Lung Association, 1817 Gadsden St, Columbia, SC 29201.

Mrs. Short, 68, of Aiken, died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at her residence.

Helen was born in Pittsburgh, PA. She moved to Aiken in 1996 from Bartlett, IL. While living in Bartlett, Helen was a member of the Bartlett Women's Club, Library Board, the Historical Society, the Parks District, and Immanuel Church of Christ. Helen liked playing golf, watching court shows on TV, and working crossword puzzles.

She was predeceased by her husband, Glen Ellis Short. She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Nicholas Ricci, Chicago, IL; Kelly Terry Grimsdale Bailey, Tampa, FL; Karla Michael Dearstyne Jenkins, Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Ellis Bailey, and Elizabeth Bailey.
