Hilda Long Secrist

The memorial service for Mrs. Hilda Long Secrist, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2016 at St. John's United Methodist Church, officiated by the Rev. Dr. W. Timothy McClendon and Rev. Nancy Reed. Burial will be private and is under the care of George Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church ministries.

Mrs. Secrist, 86, of Aiken, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016. Born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Lula Portwood Long. Mrs. Secrist was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Odell Weeks Tennis Association. Mrs. Secrist volunteered countless hours for her community and was a genuine and loyal friend to many. She retired from Kimberly Clark after 20 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Secrist.

Survivors include daughters, Becky Cardwell (Ron) of Hendersonville, TN and Patsy Davis (Mike) of Aiken; a son, Mike Secrist of Aiken; a brother, Allen Long (Pam) of Greenville; seven grandchildren: Travis Cardwell, Logan Cardwell, Katherine Sebastian, Robert Secrist, David Secrist, Aubrey Hinkson and Benjamin Donath and 5 great-grandchildren.
