Hilmar Franc Wieczorek

Hilmar Franc Wieczorek, age 95, of Beech Island, SC, passed away peacefully on August 24th, 2024, at his residence after a long and prosperous life.

He was born on July 9th, 1929, in Zwickau, Germany a son of the late August Josef & Johanna Elly Chemnitzer Wieczorek. Hilmar was a skilled butcher by trade and took great pride in his work. He was known for his hard work ethic, kind nature, and dedication to his family. Because of this, he was lovingly referred to as either “Franc the Butcher”, “YaYa” , or “Opa” .

Hilmar is survived by his loving family, including three daughters and sons-in-law; Joanne (Michael) McMann of Florence, Deborah (James) Cox of Florence, SC, and Karin (Randy) Wilkerson of Beech Island; one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald & Robin Wieczorek of Walker Valley, NY; as well as seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wieczorek was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Gisela Christel Ursula Wieczorek and a grandson, Brian Cox.
