Homer Dodson

Mr. Homer Dodson, 80, husband of Ruby Dodson, died September 11 at his residence. Funeral services will be 1PM, Saturday, September 14 at George Funeral Homes, Southside Chapel with the Revs. Ronnie Boone and Frank Hyder officiating. Visitation will be held tonight form 7-9 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Timothy Quick, Aaron Quick, Allen Boykin, Blake Boykin, Malcolm Squires, and Ronald Squires. Interment: Jackson Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Dodson was the son of the late John Phillip and Delia Dodson and a native of Rosman, NC. Mr. Dodson moved to Jackson in 1950 with Dupont and later retired in 1982. He was a member of Second Baptist Church of Beech Island, and he was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, sons; Don Dodson, Beech Island, Billy Dodson, Jackson, Wayne Powell, New Ellenton, Wendell Powell, Kline, SC, daughter; Ruth Martin, Blyth, GA,brother, Bert Dodson, Brevard, NC, Pete Dodson, Rosman, NC, sister; Myrtle Raines, Pickens, SC, Beulah Raxter, Rosman, NC, eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
