Jackie Gunter Smith

Funeral services for Jacqualine "Jackie C. Gunter Smith, 77, of Aiken, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Ken Weathers and Rev. Bill Watkins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER is assisting the family.

Mrs. Smith, widow of the late William A. Gunter and William H. Smith, Jr., passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Agape Hospice House after an illness. Born in Orangeburg County, she was a daughter of the late Tillman and Estelle Chavis Jackson. Mrs. Smith was a retired poultry grower with Amicks Poultry and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was a member of the Rose Society and the Womens Auxiliary Post 63. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Chavis and a sister, Bertie Addison.

Surviving are her son, Ryan Albert Gunter of Aiken and several nieces and nephews.
