James L. Bland

James Laval "Jimmie" Bland Jr., age 56, husband of Cynthia Stringfield Bland, entered into eternal rest on July 12, 2017.

Jimmie was the son of Dr. James "Jim" Laval Bland, Sr. and the late Julia Claire Johnson Bryson. He was a lifelong resident of Aiken and member of Millbrook Baptist Church. His life was devoted to his work. He was well known in the pool construction industry, was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. He loved the mountains, Edisto Island, and spending time there with family. He touched many lives and never met a stranger. But his greatest gift and treasure was that of being a proud father and grandfather.

Surviving in addition to his wife and father are his step-mother, Olivia Bland of Aiken; two sons James Laval "Trey" Bland III and Tyler Bland both of Aiken; step-children, Scottie West, Bryson Seigler & Erin Nichols; a grandson, Logan Nichols; two sisters, Kathleen Bland (Gene) Ferris of Aiken & Jaimee Brinkley (Scott) O'Neal of Lexington, SC; five brothers, Hansford Lee (Lisa) Bland of Newland, NC, Jason (Piper) Brinkley of Greenville, SC, Norman (Kim) Brinkley of Aiken, Nicholas (Adrian) Bland of Pinehurst, NC & Patrick (Phara) Bland of Alexandria, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Historic George Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Arthur officiating. Private interment services will take place at a later time.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Historic George Funeral Home.
