James Oscar Hutchinson

Graveside services for Mr. James Oscar Hutchinson, Sr. will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 11am at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 6-8pm at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken. Mr. Hutchinson, 72, of Aiken, died Friday, March 11, 2011 at his residence.

Born in Dublin, GA, he was the son of the late Clyde E. Hutchinson and Frances Gillman Hutchinson. Jim retired in 1994 from Amoco Oil after thirty-five years as a sales representative in Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. He moved to Aiken in 2007 from Oxford, MS. He was a Deacon and Sunday school teacher at North Oxford Baptist Church, Oxford, MS. Jim was also an avid golfer.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Clyde Hutchinson and two sons, James O. Hutchinson, Jr. and Jeffrey W. Hutchinson.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Shelvie Durden Hutchinson, Aiken and a sister, Caroline Combs, Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Landon L. Hutchinson and Christin L. Hutchinson.
