James Wesley Orvin

Funeral services for Mr. James Wesley Orvin will be held Thursday, January 19, 2005 at 2 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

Born in Charleston, SC, he was a son of the late Wilson Huffman and Clara Heath Orvin. A veteran of the Korean War, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a retired Hotel Manager. An avid duck hunter, he was a member of Ducks Unlimited and was also a Mason.

He is survived by a son, John Wesley Orvin, Trenton, SC; daughters, Clare Margaret Orvin, West Columbia, SC and Elisabeth Elrod, Randy Leesville, SC; brothers, W.H. Orvin, Jr., Richard W. Orvin, and Clifton Orvin, all of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sisters, Clara Jean Parker, Boise, ID, Janice Denny, Pfaffton, NC and Irene Logan, Mt. Pleasant, SC; granddaughter, Brooke Elisabeth Ayers, Leesville, SC.; and grandsons, Clayton and Brice Elrod. His wife, Mrs. Shirley Jean Hammett Orvin, preceded him in death.

The family has requested that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210-1790 or the Greenville Shriner? Hospital, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605-4277
