James J. Slovic

A Requiem Mass for James J. Slovic will be celebrated at 3 pm Monday, May 6, 2013 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, under the care of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, Aiken, SC.

Mr. Slovic, 86, of Aiken, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at his residence. A son of the late James M. and Otelia Hentick Slovic, he was born in Hopewell, Virginia.

After retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively, which trips included 31 different countries, all US states, even Alaska and throughout Canada. Mr. Slovic was a graduate of Virginia Tech and retired after 37 years as an Engineer with DuPont. He was a US Army WWII Veteran and a communicant of St . Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Delores Perry Slovic of Aiken, daughters, Cathy Augerinos (Larry) of Houston, Holly Broughton (Chip) and Marty Norton all of Raleigh, NC; a son, Jay Slovic (Michelle) of Taiwan; 5 grandchildren Grant Daniels, Leigh Porter, J.T. Daniels, Brittany Norton and Cassie Norton and many great-grandchildren.
