Jane E. Moore

Aiken, SC - Jane Elizabeth Moore , age 91, passed away on Friday, March 18th.

She was the daughter of Joseph Fletcher Smith and Frances Robles Smith. She spent her early life in Petersburg, Virginia. She attended William and Mary College in Virginia and spent her career years working as a nurse in an elder care facility in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Hamilton Dent Moore, Sr. and two of her children, Hamilton D. Moore, Jr., now living in Rocky Mount, NC , and Jayne Ellen Moore (Chris Fredell), of Juneau, Alaska. She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Donna Kaye Inge. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Inge, Rebecca Cruz, Gregory Moore, Douglas Moore, Julie Schwarz, and Alyssa Kelley, and 7 great grandchildren.

She will be remembered as a sweet and compassionate woman, who always thought of others first. She loved animals, music, and having fun. We will miss her greatly.

A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 224 Barnwell Avenue NW, Aiken, on Friday, April 15th at 1pm. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare, 199 Willow Run Road, Aiken, SC 29801
