Janis Toland Ferguson

Janis Toland Ferguson, wife of Dr. F. F. Ferguson of Aiken, SC, died on June 17, 2002 at her home in Cumberland Village at 3335 Wise Creek Lane in Aiken.

Mrs. Ferguson and a twin brother were born September 3, 1921 in Nashville, Arkansas to Jay Van Toland and Caroleen Burlingame Toland. She was graduated from the public schools in Nashville, Arkansas, and then attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where, like her mother, she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. On December 28, 1941, she was married to Frederick Fielding Ferguson. To this union, three children Frances Corum of Madisonville, Kentucky, Dr. Frederick Campbell Ferguson of Augusta, Georgia, and Rosalie Clifford of Los Lunas, New Mexico were born. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and three nieces. Her twin brother, Jay Van Toland, Jr. preceded her in death by several years.

A brief memorial service will be held at Cumberland Village on Thursday, Jun 20, 2002 at 4:00PM. It is requested that, in place of flowers, a donation be made to your church, synagogue, or favorite charity.
