Jeanette Wells English

AIKEN, SC – Jeanette Wells English, age 77, entered into rest Sunday, June 6, 2021, at her home.

Mrs. English was born July 30, 1943 in Sparta, Georgia to the late Sterling and Mary Smith Wells. She was a resident of the area for over 50 years. Mrs. English loved nothing more than being with her family, especially spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. Christmas was her favorite time of year because that was her most joyous occasion with everyone together. Even though she and her siblings didn't live close to one another, she enjoyed talking to them frequently and spending time together when they could. She treasured the trips she and Mr. English took all over the United States and told stories to everyone often.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Jones English; a daughter, Rita Fay English.

Survivors include a daughter, Pam English, Aiken, SC; two sons, Curtis English and Chris English (Marcia), all of Aiken, SC; seven grandchildren, CJ English (Terri), Nick English (Leslie), Wesley English, Brittany Tindall (Johnnie), Amanda Boatwright (Pat), Danny Banks (Kristle), and Terri McAlister; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Newsome (Jimmy) and Karen Whitaker (Harold); and two brothers, Hugh Wells (Elayne) and Allen Wells (Elizabeth).

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at George Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in The George Funeral Chapel. Rev. Dewayne Anderson will officiate. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. in Westview Cemetery, Thomson, GA. Pallbearers will be CJ English, Nick English, Wesley English, Danny Banks, Johnnie Tindall, Pat Boatwright, and Buddy Newsome. Honorary Pallbearers will be great-grandkids.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
