Jimmie Smith Watson

Funeral services for Mrs. Jimmie Smith Watson, 77, of Aiken, will be held at 3 pm Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Memorial Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Charles Jenkins. Burial will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Connie Maxwell Children's Home, PO Box 1178, Greenwood, SC 29648.

Mrs. Watson, widow of Derl C. Watson, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013. Born in Franklin County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late George L. and Louella Morgan Smith. She was member of Memorial Baptist Church, where she was active in the WMU, the choir and was director of the children's Sunday School Department. Mrs. Watson also did volunteer work at the Cumbie Center. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her son, Randy D. Watson, MD Kay of Aiken; daughters, Deborah Davis Charles of N. Augusta, Bonnie Squires David and Terri Garris Louis all of Aiken; sisters, Frances Smith and Ruth Purcell, both of Georgia; 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Gilmore.
