Joan Brailsford Kneece

AIKEN, SC: Joan Brailsford Kneece, 92, widow of David Kneece, of Aiken, passed away February 13, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born September 20, 1929 in Manning, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Welborn Brailsford and Leonora Johnson Brailsford.

Joan and her family moved to Aiken in 1954. She stayed at home and lovingly raised her family. In the early 1970’s she became the Kindergarten Daycare Director for North Aiken Baptist Church, where she and her family attended for many years.

Her favorite past time was sewing. She made and created many beautiful pieces that her family will cherish. She also loved gardening. When asked what her favorite flower was, her family would say “all of them!”

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 of years; and her brother, William W. “Buck” Brailsford.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Eileen B. Hall (Wendell), Bobby Bradham, both of Aiken, and Sam Bradham (Sharon), of Jonesboro, TN; her grandchildren, Heath (Holly), Matthew (Lacy), Michael (Mandy), Monica (Travis), Brian (Stephanie), Paul (Leslie) and Andrea (Josh); her 11 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, June Brailsford, of Manning, SC; and her brothers-in-law, Price Kneece (Brenda) and Gordon Kneece.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 26. 2022 at 2PM in the George Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
