A joyful celebration of the life of Joanna B. Lowe will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at 11:00am at George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel 211 Park Ave. SW, Aiken. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be directed to Hitchcock Hospice 690 Medical Park Dr. Aiken, SC 29801.

Mrs. Lowe, 75, of Aiken, died Sunday at her residence under the care of Hitchcock Hospice. A daughter of the late James and Thelma Hall, she was born in Charleston, West Virginia on June 29, 1930 and had lived briefly in Williston before moving to Aiken fifty years ago. She was a homemaker and a former member of Memorial Baptist Church. She dedicated her life to being a wife, mother and grandmother, involving herself with several community activities with her children, including sports, scouting and being a teachers aid.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, James ?Earl? Lowe, Aiken, three daughters; Christy Lowe Peele, Dothan, AL, Robbin Lowe, Lakeland, FL, Jeanna Lowe Hanna, North Augusta, and a son; Jimmie John Lowe, Grand Rapids, Michigan, two sisters; Francis Dennison, Daytona Beach, FL, and Peggy Ray, Charleston, WV and two brothers; James Hall, Idaho and Charles Hall, Alexandria, VA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Brian Peele, Heather Hanna, Jeannie Wiarda, Tara Lowe, David Hanna, Andrew Peele, Kaitlin Lowe and Emily Lowe. She also had one great grandson.
