John Alexander Denero

Aiken, S.C.-- John Alexander Denero, 54, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, in his home in Aiken, S.C. John was born Feb. 4, 1963, in Alliance, Ohio, to John Victor and Delores Mae Estock Denero. He grew up in Leechburg,PA and moved with his family to Aiken, S.C. in 1988. He graduated in 1982 from Kiski Area High School in Vandergrift, PA and continued his education at Athens Technical College in Georgia, earning a diploma in early childhood development. John incredibly overcame a childhood traumatic brain injury, and later a debilitating heart condition. Despite his challenges, John always had a kind word and cheerful smile for everyone he met. He was very appreciative of the support and loving care provided by the staff of the Tri-Development Center of Aiken County.

As an honorary member of the Faith Riders Motorcycle Ministry, he proudly coordinated a toy drive for clients of the Tri-Development Center's Operation North Pole. His interests included camping, writing poetry, playing the keyboard, singing karaoke and listening to country music, especially Waylon Jennings. His daily routine included fellowship time with his friends at the local Waffle House.

Mr. Denero is survived by his parents; and sisters, Pamela Amendola (Salvatore), of Aiken, S.C., Sandra Weaver (Steven), of Summerville, Ga., Linda Nasol (Antonio), of Aiken, S.C., Sarah Stegall, of Buford, Ga.; and nephews, Alexander Kaminski, Christopher Nasol and David Nasol. He was preceded in death by a nephew, William Kaminski Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at the chapel of the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Aiken, S.C., with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Tri-Development Center of Aiken County.
