John "Jack" Mullin

June 13, 1946 — January 19, 2023

AIKEN, SC – John (Jack) Mullin was a gift. He was everyone’s best friend, never said a bad word about anyone and was the eternal optimist. He passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 19, 2023. He was born June 13, 1946.

His light was bright, and it had infinite range. Anyone reading this statement knows this to be true because you experienced it and feel blessed to have known him. He was lightning in a bottle, one-of-a-kind and so well loved.

In reflecting on his legacy, it is overwhelming to consider only a single day, hour, moment in time to celebrate his life. He was larger than life and most certainly made an impact.

To that end, his light is everlasting and will continue to burn in all of us because he touched our lives so deeply. With that comes a shared responsibility to spread the light, spread the love, and pay it forward always so it lives on. Go play a round of golf with friends, drink a bourbon, hug your family and be happy because that is what he would want.

This little light of mine,

I'm gonna let it shine,

Let it shine, let it shine, oh let it shine

As we move forward, keep the faith, carry his light and may peace be with you.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Paula Mullin; two daughters, Jill Mullin and Kelly Whalen (Ed); four grandchildren, Edward Whalen, Bayla Daab, Maureen Whalen, Avett Daab; and a brother, Pat Mullin (Amy).
