A Mass of Christian Burial for John Paul Rabias will be celebrated Saturday, November 27th at 11:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, Novi, MI. Interment will be in Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens. Mr. Rabias, 88, of the Highland Lakes Community of Palm Harbor, FL died Sunday at Carriage Hills Plantation Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Aiken, SC. A son of the late John and Mary Ignacik Rabijas, he was born in Passaic, NJ and had lived in Palm Harbor, FL for over twenty years before recently moving to Aiken to be with family. Before retiring in 1984, he had been a sales manager for Lamina Tool & Die, Royal Oak, MI where he had worked for 35 years. He was a communicant of St. Lukes Catholic Church, Palm Harbor, FL and a member of the Highland Lakes Country Club in Palm Harbor where he golfed and played gin rummy five days a week for almost twenty years.
He was predeceased by his wife Mary Wenta Rabias, who died in 1989. He is survived by two children, Robert J. Rabias, Aiken, SC and Delphine M. Brockman, Aiken, SC. He is also survived by a brother, Edward Bensal, Concord, CA. He is also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. With fond affection, the family extends their gratitude to John?s friends, neighbors and card playing buddies in the Highland Lakes Community.
