John Mcmullen Tufft

Funeral services for Mr. John McMullen Tufft are private and under the direction of George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Mr. Tufft, 92, husband of Emma Tufft, of Aiken, died October 9, 2002 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. The only child of the late Leroy and Greta McMullen Tufft, he was born in Lancaster, PA and had lived in Cleveland, OH before moving to Aiken in 1953. He was a retired mechanical engineer for DuPont and worked at the Savannah River Site until 1975. He was a member of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church in Aiken where he also had served as a lay reader and treasurer. He was a past-president of the Aiken Senior Men?s Club and was also active in the Hitchcock Foundation. Mr. Tufft was a member of the Kalmia Landing Homeowners Association and volunteered with the AARP Tax Service. He was a longtime volunteer at Aiken Regional Medical Centers and served as treasurer for that group.
