The Funeral Mass for Mr. Joseph William Brosnan will be celebrated Monday, August 8, 2005 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken, SC. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Aiken, SC. A Christian wake service will be held Sunday, August 7, 2005 at 7:40 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:40PM.

Mr. Brosnan, 89, of Beaufort, SC, died Thursday, morning, August 4, 2005 at his home.

Born in Washington, D.C., a son of the late William A. and Mary Elizabeth Graves Brosnan, he had been a resident of Aiken, SC from 1986 until March of 2004 when he relocated to Beaufort, SC. A World War II veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Brosnan retired from the United States Postal Service where he was a supervisor. He was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, attended St. Peters Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed a round of golf and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W.

He is survived by a stepson, Vincent J. Altobello, Helen Beaufort, SC; four step-grandchildren, eleven step-great-grandchildren and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
